D&D 8 – All I Want for Christmas is Ewwwww
‘Tis the season for Crofton and Ryan to sit down and commiserate about the craziness that is Canadian Christmastime. Social calls! Treats! Christmas trees! Ryan even offers a holiday review of the latest Grinch movie. As a special holiday treat, Crofton leads a deep dive into the doody that gives the show its name with a rant on proper diaper etiquette. Do you wrap and toss or dump and flush? All of this and Red Dead Redemption too (or 2?).
D&D 7 – A Song of Gas and Water
Ryan and Crofton finally discover that kids are smarter than you think and maybe you shouldn’t talk about Christmas in front of them. Ryan laments that he may live in a seedy neighbourhood by regaling listeners with a story of losing gas, finding water, and the vans that suffer in between. Crofton starts talking about Mario Kart, goes on a weird flashback tangent about how he once dressed as Pikachu for work, and then brings it back around to talk about My Little Pony (it’s a good show!). It’s a journey for sure. All this and how to plan your wife’s milestone birthday!
D&D 6 – Stories From Your Mouth
Ryan and Crofton reunite to see which of them survived Halloween with over-sugared children? Spoiler: Both did. Ryan chronicles his geekirific bachelor party shenanigans and what happens when you merge debauchery and Dungeons & Dragons (D&D&D). Crofton takes a minute to savour a date night with his lovely wife, complete with a mysterious (completely not dirty) card game. The boys then try to recapture the whimsy from their childhoods with talk of imagination play, bedtime stories, and the movies that marked (and traumatized) them as kids.
D&D 5 – The Good, The Bad, and The Spooky
Charity and capitalism collide in this week’s episode of Dungeons and Diapers! Experience the angelic Ryan’s quest to raise as much money for sick children as possible doing what he does best: playing games. Meanwhile, experience the demonic Crofton’s quest for the perfect Red Dead Redemption 2 experience by purchasing a PS4 Pro and taking his daughter to a video game store for the first time. Hear both gentlemen prepare for the Halloween season with discussions of scary games (Until Dawn! Resident Evil 7!), pumpkin carving and trick or treating prep. This week’s kid stuff also includes Crofton’s daughter learning how to play Mario Odyssey in real life and Ryan’s son learning how to yell at him from the top of the stairs – both practical life skills! All this and a full mailbag as well!
D&D 4 – Naps and Whine
Crofton and Ryan meander through a field of sterling parenting conversation tulips (baby names! Putting your kids on social media!) before diving deep into the dungeon to figure out if it is even possible to finish a video game as a parent of young kids. Ryan’s case study is Spider-Man and Shadow of the Tomb Raider while Crofton is again lured by the siren’s call of his old mistress… The Witcher 3 – this time with 100% more Blood and Wine. Also, Ryan faces the end of naps and Crofton embarks on his first kindergarten field trip. All of that and VR lightsabers too! Come drop your diapers and delve into our dungeons! What? My wife says that line isn’t any better.
D&D 3 – Kindergarten Cops
We. Are. Live! Another time jump has Ryan and Crofton discussing their latest parenting milestones — Babies walking! Kids kindergartening — while they dive into Spider-Man, a recent blockbuster video game release. Listen to a grown man with two children explain the subtle nuances of Spider-Man’s personal non-lethal ethics to another grown man with two children! Plus, stay for the first of what is assuredly many discussions about “screen time” for kids. How much is too much? Is all screen time the same? All of that and Super Mario Odyssey too! Put down the diapers and come into our dungeon! Wait, my wife just told me that last line might need work.
D&D 2 – New Kid, New Episode
Four months later – how has Crofton survived becoming a double-dad? How does Ryan manage to record eleven podcasts a day (rough estimation)? What are the best video games to play when holding a baby? Speaking of games, the boys talk about some of the recent heavy hitters like God of War and the Nintendo Switch’s continued dominance. All of this and an update on Ryan’s evil twin neighbour too!
D&D 1 – Why You Do This?
Here it is! The pilot episode of Dungeons and Diapers was recorded months ago and has aged like fine wine. Is Ryan’s neighbour a twin or a just a jerk? Will Crofton’s pregnant wife give birth? (Spoiler alert: She does.) How the hell does a parent with infant children even get to go see a movie like Black Panther, Solo or the Avengers: Infinity War? Will Crofton be an idiot and start playing Persona 5 right before his second child is born? Learn the answers to these and other burning questions while being able to tell your friends that you were in from the beginning.
