Dungeons & Diapers Archives
Ryan and Crofton are back to lament their lack of a soft drink sponsor. Fear not, however, they bring the goods with deep dungeon discussions on everything from Ryan’s love of a new podcast on conning people (don’t know what that says about him) to Crofton’s time on the Sea of Thieves. Other bits and bobs include Netflix’s Lupin, Captain Marvel, a Quiet Place 2, and a visit to day camp. Come listen!
Crofton and Ryan pooled their collective energy from having a week off to deliver a super-sized episode where they cover everything from Loki to not losing your mind with your kids. Ryan goes mainstream with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart while Crofton goes art house with Backbone (it’s a PC game – Google it!). All of this and a moment to reflect. Come listen!
Ryan kicks off the show with a Tale of the Troublesome Threes, while Crofton struggles with work balance. Moving into the Dungeons, Crofton spins the GamePass Roulette on his Xbox Series X and lands on Lonely Mountains: Downhill. Ryan’s Dungeon content involves the premiere of Loki on Disney+, which of course leads to a larger MCU conversation. Over to the Diapers, Crofton watched The Mitchell’s vs The Machines with his oldest daughter, while Ryan vacationed with the family at a cottage rental. Although Crofton questions Ryan’s definition of a “cottage”.
This week marks Crofton succumbing to Ryan’s peer pressure and buying an Xbox Series X. Fair warning, if you don’t want the ins and outs of Xbox Game Pass and the wheeling and dealing you can do, skip ahead to the plethora of great stuff including Renaissance man Crofton’s book and podcast reviews while elite gamer Ryan walks you through the nuances of the Normandy in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. All of this and Gwen has her first experience with “mean girls” while Kayden perfects the art of wiping his ass. Come listen!
The end is in sight for Ryan and Crofton as they exchange vaccine news. Even Ryan’s daughter Abby’s new infatuation with worms and dead birds couldn’t throw them off! The boys were ready to hit the dungeons with TV talk on both the Handmaid’s Tale and 30 Rock. Ryan buys (another) new console and almost pulls a fast one on Crofton. Diapers are also changed in this jumbo episode with Ryan lamenting the sleep issues that come with kids sharing a room while Crofton shares his favourite childhood books – the Faraway Tree series- with his daughter. Come listen!
Ryan and Crofton are back to explore the nuances of parenting during a pandemic and making sure their kids have a normal life while keeping them safe. It is very important to them… almost as important as discussing Marvel’s latest: Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Crofton concludes his Breath of the Wild run with hot takes on everything from Yakuza to For the King to Stardew Valley. Ryan tackles his backlog with a return to Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Will he finish it this time? Nobody knows. Come listen!
After a short hiatus, the boys are back! Ryan brings the goods with a fun story about calling 9-1-1 (more like 9-1-fun amirite?) before Crofton tries to one-up him with a story of his own. In the Dungeons, Ryan watches a documentary (nerd alert) about the fall of Blockbuster video while Crofton watches this year’s Showcase of the Immortals ie WRESTLEMAAAAAAANIA (smark alert). While Crofton explains wrestling jargon to Ryan, the latter is ready to change Diapers including some talk about home schooling and birthday parties. Regular updates on Breath of the Wild and Ryan’s non-pool are also included. Come listen!
Ryan welcomes Crofton from Dungeons & Diapers to chat about his “games to play when there are no games coming out” collection. Featuring the triumphant return of Uncharted 4, No Man’s Sky, and Breath of the Wild. On the other hand, Ryan tests out his direction instructing skills by playing We Were Here Together. Plus, just one more loop in Loop Hero! Moving into the news, lots of Game Pass going around, but the most interesting has to be the confirmation that Outriders will be available at launch with the service on April 1st. Finally, Dark Alliance makes it’s return this summer!
This week Crofton hosts Ryan in a discussion of Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s first episode and the TV version of the MCU. Ryan finds out that TV shows are just podcasts with visuals thanks to the new show “Calls”. Crofton is like a kid in a candy store on Xbox Game Pass while Ryan is up Schitt’s Creek without a paddle. All of this and Gwen learns the value of patience and Crofton finally gets his name in the title of an episode! Come listen!
