Dungeons & Diapers Archives
On this, the last Dungeons and Diapers edition of the year, we start a new tradition: the Daddies – the first ever Dungeons and Diapers award show. What was Ryan’s favourite film of the year? What game kept Crofton coming back for more? And what were their single biggest “Dad” moments of the year? The Academy has spoken, the awards will be handed out, and the year will be reviewed. Come listen and then tell us your picks! Who are your Daddies?
Ryan and Crofton are back! They never left, you say? Well then they are super-back… just like the Master Chief in Halo. Listen to Ryan provide an introductory course in Halo-ology while Crofton is just a Lover in a Dangerous Spacetime. TV shows are on the docket as well with Arcane and The Wheel of Time. All of this and at least 15 minutes of dedicated Spider-Man content! Come listen!
After making him wait an entire episode, Ryan finally relents and allows Crofton to detail every single nuance of Resident Evil 4 VR and what makes it great. Then the boys exchange notes on hot releases like Forza Horizon 5 and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Meanwhile in the Diapers section it is literal diapers as Ryan unsuccessfully tries to get some of his kids to a nappy-free world. All this and Crofton gets beat by his daughter at Smash Bros! Come listen!
Ryan and Crofton have officially run out of time… so they changed it! Find out which kids loved the time change and which did not. Crofton’s adventures in Smash Bros with his daughter continue as does his enjoyment of Netflix’s American Vandal series. Ryan doesn’t have time for any shenanigans as he has to deal with a family emergency and explain it to his kids. Never an easy thing, listen to how he navigated a difficult situation and helped his children learn from it. All this and Crofton tried to talk about Resident Evil 4 VR (more on that next episode)! Come listen!
While Jocelyn is away, Crofton from Dungeons & Diapers joins Ryan on the show to unpack Metroid Dread. We keep the conversation relatively spoiler free, so don’t worry if you’re avoiding story spoilers outside of the intro. Moving over to the news, Nintendo unveiled the final free update for Animal Crossing New Horizons, alongside details for a DLC and the final pricing for Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. We also got our first look at the Uncharted movie with a new trailer!
Ryan and Crofton are back in two instalments – a before and after Ryan’s kids all got sick at the same time. Come meet innocent Ryan, not knowing what fate was to befall him as he talks anime and Tales of Arise. Crofton updates on all his stuff including Sea of Thieves, Psychonauts 2, Smash Bros. and Murders in the Building. A gap follows whereas life hits Ryan hard before he returns, hardened and weary, to update a tough week in the Murphy household. All this and Crofton goes on a road trip! Come listen!
Get (close to) live reaction from Crofton and Ryan to the Mario movie casting news, starring a dude named Chris. The good vibes continue with some Ted Lasso talk before the boys go into the minds of madness with Psychonauts 2. Then it is back to school season – how are you managing? Are you a Crofton (yay all good) or a Ryan (sad sigh, blows nose)? All of this and Goose Game is back. Come listen!
The boys are back to their regular scheduled podcasting ways this week. It is a packed dungeon with comments on the new Spider-Man trailer, Marvel’s What If…, Dragon Quest XI, and more. Plus, changing diapers starts with fun birthday parties and the work they take and ends with back to school. Come listen and help find Ryan a new nickname! Oh, and also suggest things Crofton should do in exchange for Extra Life donations!
Crofton was on vacation this week, so Ryan welcomed Adam Huber, who draws the Bug Martini web comic, to discuss the Dungeons & Dragons Saturday Morning Cartoon from the 80’s (which is all available on YouTube)! Ryan and Adam also discuss their love of Disney+ and showing their kids the classics, while also balancing some Fornite skill building during the pandemic. Plus the all important question of when can you introduce your kids to your favourite franchises like Jurassic Park and Star Wars. Could you create a kid friendly version of Jurassic Park? We try to find out! Closing out the show we talk of Summer plans, and what to squeeze in as some last minute fun in the remaining few weeks of the season. All this, and more, on a Crofton-less Dungeons and Diapers!
