Cross-Realm Mythic Dazar’Alor

With the Alliance Hall of Fame reaching 100 guilds over the weekend. Mythic BoD is available for cross-realm progression. Congratulations to the guilds that earned the Feat of Strength: Hall of Fame: Lady Jaina Proudmoore and those who now hold the title of Famed Conqueror of Dazar’alor for Dazar’alor // Famed Defender of Dazar’alor!

The 8.2 Info Dump

  • General
    • 8.2 will have:
      • 2 New Zones: Nazjatar and Mechagon
      • New Raid: Azshara’s Eternal Palace
      • New Megadungeon: Operation: Mechagon
      • New End Game System: The Heartforge
      • A new Arena: the Robodrome
      • Ashran returning as an epic BG
      • Arathi Heroic Warfront
      • 2 New Islands
      • New Quests for Magni and the War Campaign
      • Gnome and Tauren Heritage Armor
      • Additional content for Professions and War Mode
    • Do not expect many class changes in 8.2 outside of relatively small tuning (Tank balancing was mentioned)
    • Mechagon and Nazjatar outdoor content will be fully available on day 1 (no portioning out a la Argus; or, Isle of Thunder)
    • Season 3, including Mechagon Megadungeon and the Eternal Palace, is tentatively scheduled to open on week 2 or week 3 after the patch?!
    • Pathfinder Part 2 will have rep requirements and achievement requirements from both new areas.
    • Completing the Achievement will grant a flying mechanical parrot mount.
    • Mount Equipment will be made by crafters and are destroyed when they are replaced
      • Comfortable Rider’s Barding (Anti-daze)
      • Inflatable Mount Shoes (Water Walking)
      • Saddleshute (deployable parachute when dismounted)
    • Mount Equipment is enabled after one character on the account reaches level 100 and then can be used by all characters on that account at level 20 or above.
    • Water-striders will be losing innate water walking but anyone who owns the mount will be mailed a free Inflatable Mount Shoes item. The vendors who sold the water strider mounts will also give a large discount to player’s that earned that mount from them.
    • Sky Golem still allows you to harvest while mounted; but, it DOESN’T benefit from equipment like the other mounts.
    • No visuals for inflatable mount shoes or Rider’s Barding
  • Heart of Azeroth
    • Essence Slots unlocked as you gain HoA levels past 50. First unlocking a Major and then two Minor slots.
    • Between the slots, there are extra stamina upgrades.
    • Essences can be switched into these slots like PvP talents.
    • Each Essence has a Major and Minor ability.
    • When put into a minor slot only the minor ability is active.
    • When in a major slot, BOTH the major and minor abilities are active.
    • Major abilities are mostly active while minor abilities are passive.
    • There are essences that can be used universally and there are tank, dps and healer specific essences.
    • Essences come from specific activities and are not RNG drops for the first 3 ranks: Uncommon, Rare, Epic.
    • Epic ranks are reported to become available to most players at a heroic raiding level or analogous difficulty.
    • Rank 2 or 3 can be collected without previously obtaining earlier ranks.
    • Legendary essences can have some RNG tied to their unlock process (Reputation Legendary is a chance from the Paragon Chest.)
    • The criteria for the next rank is shown on the tooltip of the current rank you have.
    • The ranks of essences will come from accomplishments in a particular activity. (ie: rep being locked behind friendly, honored, revered, exalted)
    • Essences are treated like talents(and the UI is like the PvP talent pane).
      • You can switch them out in any rested area or using a tome.
      • They are not consumed on use but are unique equip.
    • Getting Rank 4 Legendaries are not RNG based but gated behind top levels of content.
    • New Azerite Traits from Azshara’s Eternal Palace and Mechagon Mega Dungeon.
  • Mechagon
    • Mechagon is relatively the same size as the Timeless Isle but not as vertical.
    • No hard time-gating on Mechagon content.
    • The core progression for Mechagon is building up the town of Rustbolt.
    • Mechagon is closer to a classic grind with resources to collect. These resources are called Spare Parts and are donated to progress with the Rustbolt Rebellion.
    • Spare Parts are collected from rares, limited availability quest that are not WQ, and other avenues.
    • Spare Parts can be put towards a number of small projects as well as used as a pseudo currency for some features in the land.
    • You should not easily come against the same soft cap that AP has in live when farming Spare Parts in Mechagon.
    • Mechagon is billed to be more of a persistent area that has different events happening at different times.
    • Mechagon is said to have the most secrets crammed into one area than anywhere before.
  • Operation: Mechagon

  • Nazjatar
    • Story quest will take place over the course of two weeks.
    • Alliance meet a group of water warriors who have been hunted to near extinction levels and now live only to topple Azshara.
    • Horde meet a group of former Naga slaves that have banded together to form the Unshackled.
    • You will build up a base of operations and take 1 of 3 combat allies out into the area.
    • Combat allies level up as you do various activities each having 30 levels and gaining unique abilities as you level them.
    • You will also receive cosmetic rewards as you level your combat allies.
    • World Quests in Nazjatar will be themed around Azshara.
    • They will also be affected by affixes which should change the experience on the same WQ done at different times.
    • Around the central hub there are several daily quest that are more traditional dailies.
  • Azshara’s Eternal Palace
    • 8 boss raid

      • Underwater Monstrosity

      • The Hatchery, featuring Zoatroid, Empowered Brute, Empowered Warrior

    • The underwater boss is said to have platforms which you stand on and no issue with breathing.
    • Swimming is used to get from one platform to the next as a transition and not needed during the core phases of the fight.
    • Druid swim form will have an advantage here it seems.   
    • By the end of the raid, we will know who is the final boss of BfA.
