DaD 141 – Sweets and Treats
Crofton brings the sweets and Ryan brings the treats this week on Dungeons and Diapers as they discuss sugar and their kids. Beyond those treats, Crofton recommends some great games in Rematch and Dungeons of Hinterberg whereas Ryan rolls credits on Andor and Expedition 33. Come listen!
DaD 140 – Discipline
This week the boys are finally disciplined enough to focus on a hot topic: how to discipline your kids. They swap strategies and share meltdowns. But before that, they fight the supernatural with Ryan’s thoughts on the latest zombie thriller – 28 Years Later – and Crofton’s musings on the state of KPOP Demon Hunting. All of that and Ryan visits the ER in The Pitt while Crofton updates the unfortunate state of professional wrestling in mid-2025. Come listen!
DaD 139 – The Dentist
Today Ryan and Crofton go the dentist. House of horror or necessary evil? That is the question. The boys regale with stories of kids and teeth. But those are not the only stories, as Ryan supports his kids in opening a business and then blowing their earnings at the racetrack. Meanwhile, Crofton is itching to talk about Clair Obscur and the Nintendo Switch 2. Oh, and itching because he has lice. Come listen!
DaD 138 – Learning to Read
Crofton and Ryan are teaching their kids to read, and they are learning as they go. From favourite kid lit to patience to reading glasses – they cover it all. But before getting to reading, it is all about that screen time with spoiler-free discussions of Andor Season 2, DOOM: The Dark Ages, and some medical show Ryan can’t pronounce (St. Denny’s Medical? St. Danny’s Medical?). All of this and Crofton gets the band back together to play Valheim and it is amazing. Come listen!
DaD 137 – The State of Streaming
Netflix or Disney +?; Apple TV+ or Crave? This week, the guys dive into the streaming services that feed us our shows. Which ones are worth it? But before that, Ryan is a Disruptor, reporting back on an ADHD documentary. Crofton goes deep into the new hit puzzle game Blue Prince and offers thoughts on the beginning of Andor’s second season. All this, and Ryan gets free comics! Come listen!
DaD 136 – Unintended Influencing
No matter what we do, our kids are watching. For good or for ill, we are influencing them all the time. This week, Ryan and Crofton talk about how their parenting is going and the impressions they are leaving. But before that, Crofton recaps this year’s WRESTLEMANIA and Ryan reads the latest John Scalzi book that may be a bit cheezy. All of this, a Blue Prince and more. Come listen!
DaD 135 – Movies
Let’s all just take a break from this crazy world and go to the movies! But what movies? Should we make our kids watch our old favourites? Or try some new classics? But before all that talk, Ryan explains to Crofton how his new Source Code book is about Bill Gates and is not the novelization of a Jake Gyllenhal movie. Crofton signed back up for Xbox Game Pass and shares thoughts on South of Midnight and Lonely Mountain: Snow Riders. All of this and there is a new watch to watch out for. Come listen!
DaD 134 – And One More Thing…
Crofton and Ryan revisit some of their recent discussions to update them, including with listener feedback. Advocacy, vacations, pets, and more. But it has been awhile and they also have a lot of nerdity to get through, including lots of new TV – Severance, Paradise and Spider-Man – and video games – Astro Bot, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This is a long one, will the boys lose their voices? Come listen and find out.
DaD 133 – Advocacy
Go west young man, go west! That is what Crofton is trying to tell Ryan in this western-fused episode as he finishes up the epic novel Lonesome Dove and dabbles in some Red Dead Redemption 2. But Ryan’s only journey west is into western fantasy with Avowed. Is it more of a Dragon’s Age than Dragon Age? Come find out. The topic of the day is a discussion on how to advocate – be it for your kids or your community- as Crofton struggles with saving his daughters’ school. All of that and Ryan cozies up to his favourite fictional serial killer, Dexter! Come listen!
