Dungeons & Diapers Archives
Crofton teaches Ryan what Happy Endings are on this episode of Dungeons and Diapers, that is to say an entertaining cancelled too soon sitcom that he has been watching. Ryan counters by singing the praises of The Mandalorian, following its first episode. One thing the boys can uniformly agree on is that Halloween is awesome despite the pandemic. From candy hunts to Ghostbusters, they enjoyed it all. And now you can too… come listen! Be sure to stick around after the outro music, as we have a bit of bonus content for all you lovely listeners.
The leaves are changing colour, the temperature is dropping, Halloween is coming, but one thing remains constant: the insane global pandemic. Crofton’s mental state is fragile and not helped by the brutal Dark Souls of Mario: Super Mario Sunshine. Luckily Hades, and to a lesser degree, Ryan, are there to cheer him up! Speak of the devil, Ryan talks this year’s All Hallow’s Eve with his possible kid prep and a great new podcast recommendation. He closes it up with thoughts on how he can get Abby to “let it go” with Frozen-inspired potty training. Come listen!
Crofton and Ryan are back it, talking about their favourite in television, video games, and…. scooters? Ryan is up Schitt’s Creek without a paddle and Crofton has to overcome his Canadian TV prejudices to join him. One thing they both can agree on is how awesome the new video game Hades is. It says a lot about 2020 that it is more fun to go to hell but here we are. All of that plus Mario makes his usual appearances in both LEGO and Galaxy form. Come listen!
In this extra-long Dungeons and Diapers, Ryan and Crofton commiserate about the dystopian hellscape they now inhabit, with their sole comfort being… pumpkin spice. Also, video games and TV shows – even children’s shows as Ryan breaks out his first kid review for Extra Life on Noddy’s Toyland Detective. With all the stuff in this one, we might just have to go with a list. It includes: Ghost of Tsushima final thoughts, Mario All-Stats first thoughts, return to school, COVID testing, Netflix’s High Score, and more. Finally, find out if Ryan decides to snip the cord, no not that one, the other one! Come listen!
Ryan and Crofton return to report back on their slow re-introduction to school during these COVID-19 times. Tune in next episode when they have a few weeks under their belt to see how things went! Ryan introduces this years promo for Extra Life, and should be a lot of fun content for the show and torture for Ryan as he is forced to digest even more Children’s programming. In the Dungeons, Crofton has been enjoying Umbrella Academy Season 2 and Rita on Netflix, while Ryan gets his Avengers on in with the new PlayStation 4 game. In a bridge between the two segments, Ryan is forced to admit that Crofton is mostly right, as the new God of War book “B is for Boy” is more satirical than actual kids book (about 90% of it is FINE for kids, just need to do a little self sensor and skip a page or two). In the Diapers, Crofton has been thoroughly enjoying Child of Light as the follow up to Paper Mario The Origami King with Gwen. Ryan, not wanting the Paper Mario fun to end, dusts off the Wii U and picks up Paper Mario Color Splash. We close the show with Listener Feedback and Children’s Book suggestions!
Crofton and Ryan gather to bring you a special episode of Dungeons & Diapers! This time around, we’re discussing Final Fantasy VII Remake with ALL the spoilers. What do we mean by ALL? Well, we discuss the remake, the original, and moments that aren’t covered in the remake that could possibly pop up in Part II. I think we even talk about a PSP game…. Anyways, hope you enjoy this spoilercast and please let us know if you’d like to see more content like this from Dungeons & Diapers!
While Crofton and I did not get a chance to record a normal Dungeons and Diapers this week, we did record The Gamers’ Inn together. We covered a lot of the geeky stuff we would normally chat about in our Dungeons section, so we thought we would share that episode on this feed as well. If you already subscribe to The Gamers’ Inn, you already have this episode so you can go ahead and skip this one (If you’re not subscribed, you totally should). Either way, enjoy and be back to our normal routine soon!
Ryan and Crofton’s worlds begin returning to some semblance of normal, or at least COVID-normal, as they check in on everything from if they will buy new video game consoles this year, the latest and greatest in tv, and if Ryan should ever be allowed near power tools. This week, Crofton debriefs on the melancholic final season of Community while Ryan plugs two Amazon features: Upload and Tales from the Loop. Crofton completes his journey through Midgar and offers some final thoughts on FF7 Remake before both of the boys discuss playing Paper Mario with their respective little ones. All of that and random Canadian towns outside the MTV! Come listen!
