D&D SPOILERS – Avengers: Endgame with Beau
We interrupt our normally scheduled Dungeons and Diapers for some Dungeons and Diapers SPOILERS! This time we focus on Avengers: Endgame. Plus, we’re joined by special guest Beau Schwartz. If you haven’t seen Avengers: Endgame, best to save this episode for after you’ve had a chance to see it.
D&D 16 – No Endgame Spoilers
Crofton and Ryan return from a weekend filled with geeky goodness. Both saw Endgame, but fear not, there will be no spoilers here (but we’re planning something special). However, we do discuss the latest and greatest in Virtual Reality. Crofton recommends another great couples Netflix binge with GLOW. Over on the Diapers side, Ryan is dealing with a waking child, while Crofton discusses the balance of having a great babysitter.
D&D 15 – The Wrestling Academy
Wrestlemania season has come and gone and Crofton reflects on the highs (new champs!) and lows (late bedtime!) as he plans to travel to Montreal for a big show next week. Ryan gets a speed tutorial on the wonders of pro wrestling before he provides one on the wonders of Yoshi. Crofton continues his tour of Zelda with Ocarina of Time. TV talk takes precedence as Ryan finishes the Umbrella Academy and Crofton digs into Hanna. All of this and sick kids too! Strap in and enjoy!
D&D 14 – The Division Epidemic
This week Ryan helps Crofton cope with his new status quo as his baby goes to daycare and his wife back to work. The boys also deep dive into some geeky goodness including hot takes on the Division 2, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Diablo 2 and Destiny 2. Two of those are lies but I really wanted to write a bunch of D2s. You will have to listen to find out! All of this and Crofton goes into great length to explain the glory that is the board game Pandemic Legacy that involved him *gasp* leaving his house for a boy’s night.
D&D 13 – Samuel L. Jackson: Man of Mystery
The boys are on vacation and collectively find out that time off work doesn’t mean more geek time when you have kids. Ryan has his finger on the pulse of the Internet with hot takes on both Anthem and Captain Marvel. Crofton is living in the (Link to the) past with Zelda on SNES Classic as he tries to explain to his confused daughter why only little girls get put in the crystals. Most importantly, Ryan’s wife Ashley doesn’t know who Samuel L. Jackson is! All of this and Ryan and Crofton discuss booking fellow geek parent friends for online gaming. Does playing with fellow parents make everyone more understanding? Or is it just too hard to coordinate?
D&D 12 – Geek Wedding Away
This week on Dungeons and Diapers, Ryan and his wife go to a wedding. Out of town. WITHOUT THE KIDS! What does Ryan learn? Is the house still standing? This was no normal wedding though, it was a geeky gamer one. Come hear Ryan describe it all with bated breath, as he drools over Zelda centrepieces and Smith Falls Subway. Meanwhile, Crofton is hermitting at home as he and his daughter finish the Windwaker and look to the horizon, in search of future adventures. All of this as well as toddler sleep tricks and the Umbrella Academy too.
D&D 11 – Resident Evil: Kindergarten
The winter chill continues to tighten its noose around Ryan and Crofton and their families and the boys begin to plan their escapes.. both from the cold and the hordes of face-biting zombies in Resident Evil. Crofton continues to sail the sunny seas of Hyrule with his daughter in the Windwaker while Ryan tests the limits of technology to be the best husband ever (ie free up the tv). Crofton’s daughter tries skating for the very first time while Crofton himself tries Cross Code for the very first time – both monumental achievements! Last – but definitely not least – Ryan delivers a sermon from the mount in the face of the local Ontario government on the wonders of kindergarten and the importance of class sizes.
D&D 10 – Into the Winter-Verse
Ryan and Crofton commiserate on the life choices they have made to get this to the point where they have to spend their winters in Canada. It is cold. It is snowy. But wait… there are functional (heated) movie theatres! That means it is once again time to break down a movie, this time Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse. Crofton and Gwen take to the seas in The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker while Ryan and Kayden celebrate his third birthday (Kayden’s not Ryan’s). What age is appropriate for letting your kid have a tablet? What about watching Twitch streams? All of this and OMG GO SEE INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE ALREADY!
D&D 9 – Catching Up On Infinity
Welcome to 2019! Ryan and Crofton return from their holidays to discuss what kept them busy over the last three weeks. Crofton FINALLY watched Infinity War, so we dive into spoiler territory for a bit. Ryan got a 4K upgrade for Christmas, and rises up from constantly fiddling with settings. Throw in some great and not so great holiday moments with the family, and you’ve got an excellent Dungeons and Diapers.
